A common reason is a blockage of the ink channels. You can fix this issue with the\u00a0cartridge by running \u00a0the cleaning program on your printer one or more times.<\/p>\n<p>By clicking on the link\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www8.hp.com\/us\/en\/troubleshooting.html\">Guide for HP printers<\/a>, you are redirected to the site with HP printers. Here you\u00a0can select your printer from the list and then download the manual. The manual describes how to\u00a0clean the printheads, how to align the printheads and how you can check the ink levels.<\/p>\n<p>If you do not get immediate results, the cleaning program should be repeated one or two times. If\u00a0this still doesn\u2019t help, you can do the following:<\/p>\n<p>A. Solution for cartridges without printhead<\/p>\n<p>B. Solution for cartridges with printhead<\/p>\n<p><strong>A. Cartridges without printhead (elongated cartridges)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These include: HP 364XL, 921XL HP, HP 931XL, 951XL HP<\/p>\n<p>In case the cleaning program does not provide the desired result, remove the cartridge from the\u00a0printer and follow these steps:<\/p>\n<p>1. Make sure to use clean water (preferably distilled, tap water is also allowed) and have swabs.<\/p>\n<p>2. The cartridge holder shows small strainers.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-289\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inkandprint.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/2f34da3a5616fd88c1ba6c8213ceb554.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Use a wet cotton swab around the filter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-290\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inkandprint.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/d8c1a5012d9c22e6bd1b1eb36ba8df3b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. You will see that the swab absorbs the residual ink content and assumes the colour of the ink.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-291\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inkandprint.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/c4cebdb6b7024860a400d1b89082d169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. Repeat this process several times until the swab stops absorbing ink.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. Cartridges with printhead (block cartridges)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These include: HP 20, HP 21, HP 56, HP 57, HP 300, HP 301<\/p>\n<p>In case the cleaning program does not provide the desired result, remove the cartridge from the\u00a0printer. Clean the copper-coloured area with a damp, lint-free cloth. Wipe the copper-coloured area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-292\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inkandprint.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/cee358033db7011f941cd2fafce28c3d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Use your finger to lightly dab the tip of the cloth on the affected area, so the fabric absorbs a small\u00a0amount of ink from the cartridge. This should unclog and free up the channels. Denatured alcohol is\u00a0ideally suited, but can also use household water if necessary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-293\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inkandprint.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/8c580966226cb6e6cb1ba17bc0ec7271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<div>Then make the contact completely dry with a lint-free cloth.
